The whole world is affected by COVID-19, the coronavirus. But how will it affect us and you? Here are some thoughts and information.
We have put measures in place to work from home so it’s business as usual but not at the office. This should have no impact on any of our services and so you can contact us in the usual ways and we’ll respond just the same.
But how is this affecting you? A lot of companies have taken the advice and asked staff to work from home where able. The internet has made this a lot more manageable than in the past – most people have wifi at home, possibly a laptop and almost certainly a mobile phone. Services like TeamViewer or Google Chrome Remote Desktop lets you use your office computer from anywhere which means you really can continue as normal.
But if you don’t want to use a remote desktop app then you still need to access things like emails and files. Webmail can be your best friend in scenarios like this. We provide it on all of our hosting plans. If you don’t know how to access it then it will be one of these links depending on what hosting platform you’re on:
They are all very similar and just require your email address and password.
And how can you access files? Try any of the cloud storage providers like Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or many others. Most offer an amount of storage for free but even if you need more, it’s very inexpensive. And it means all your files are available from anywhere.
Upheaval and change, especially at very short notice, is not good at all but hopefully this will help you carry on as easily as possible.
